Assam, the Bura-Chapuri Wildlife Sanctuary is well worth a visit when on a tour

other animals in their natural habitat in the Bura-Chapuri Wildlife Sanctuary.

    Covering an area of 44.06 km, the amazing flora and fauna of Bura-Chapuri Wildlife Sanctuary is sure to impress not just the animal and nature lovers but also the common travelers frequenting it. Other than the famous rhino, it is also the best breeding ground of the Bengal Florican.

    Some of the other animals that can be sighted in the Bura-Chapuri Wildlife Sanctuary include Asiatic Buffalo, Wild Boar, Otter, Civet Cat, Leopard Cat, Barking Deer, etc. The list also comprises of different reptiles.

    It is a delightful experience to watch the fishes moving about in the water bodies. Many birds too migrate to this wildlife reserve stretching over the alluvial flood plains of Central Assam. Though there aren’t too many, the wintering ferruginous ducks are also lovely to watch.
