Bannerghatta National park
Located 22 km to the south of Bangalore, the Bannerghatta National Park covers an area of 101 sq km. The park is home to a good number of tigers and lions besides other mammals. Meanwhile, the bird population at the park consists of varieties like the great Indian pied hornbill, fantail pigeon and white peacock. Another attraction of the Bannerghatta National Park is its amazing collection of reptiles.
Nagarhole National Park
Having derived its name from two Kannada words - "Nagar" (snake) and "Hole" (streams), the Nagarhole National park is made up green tropical forests, swamps and numerous water bodies. It animal population includes the four horned antelope, tiger, panther, elephant, spotted deer and sambhar. You can also spot around 250 varieties of birds at the Nagarhole National Park..
